Assess. Adapt. Prevent. Maintain.

Our living well approach to home care starts by understanding what may be making everyday life more difficult. Our occupational therapists visit you at home across Perth to assess your needs and put practical, personalised solutions in place.

We can help you adapt your home, manage everyday tasks, move around safely and reduce potential risks. The goal is to help you live safely, confidently and independently in your own home.

With the right support and practical changes, you can keep doing the things that matter to you, your way.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • What does an occupational therapist do at home?

An occupational therapist (OT) visits your home to observe how you move through your day, then recommends practical changes, home modifications, equipment, or new ways of doing a task, so you can keep managing daily activities like bathing, dressing and moving around safely and independently.

  • Is occupational therapy at home funded through Support at Home?

Occupational therapy is one of the allied health services that can be funded through the Support at Home Program, along with CHSP, DVA and private care. Eligibility and funding depend on your individual assessment, so it's best confirmed through a free consultation with our team.

  • How is a home visit different from a clinic-based OT session?

A home visit lets the therapist assess your actual environment, your steps, your bathroom, your kitchen, rather than a simulated clinic setup. Recommendations for equipment or modifications are based on how your home and yard really work, which tends to make them more accurate and easier to put into practice.

  • Can occupational therapy help with memory loss or dementia?

Yes. Our occupational therapists provide cognitive assessment and re-training for people experiencing memory problems, along with practical strategies and home adjustments that support continued independence for as long as possible.

  • How quickly can we get started?

We aim to visit you at home within 24 hours of your enquiry to talk through what's needed. From there we put together a tailored plan and coordinate the occupational therapy assessment as part of it. It can be privately funded or through a plan.

  • What areas does Companion Home Care's occupational therapy service cover?

We provide in-home occupational therapy across the Perth metro area and the Peel region of Western Australia. Call our team on 9315 2200 to check availability i your suburb.

  • Can NDIS participants access occupational therapy through Companion Home Care?

We support people with disability through our Disability Care program. If you're a NDIS participant, get in touch with our team to talk through how in-home occupational therapy can fit into your plan.
